Starting the "share your smile" project

9.1.2018
I came to Bishkek to work in an AIESEC Global Volunteer project (https://aiesec.org/) "share your smile with children". Today it was time to actually get to work.

First day of work was a bit chaotic. We were running after Para´s luggage last night so we had no time to plan the classes. It was more about meeting the kids and getting to know them. They are so cute, happy and awesome. :) But boy do they have a lot of energy.

We have two classes (1h/class) every day from Monday to Friday. After classes of the day we have lunch and plan for the next day. We try to come up with some active games and fun crafts, like origami animals. It was really rewarding to see how the kids got to know us better during the first week. In the beginning they were a bit shy but by the second day they were just greeting us with enthusiasm like Roosa!Roosa! Para!Para! and simply hugging and climbing all over us. They are also learning to understand us better bit by bit. The kids don´t speak English and we don´t speak Russian so we have to be a bit creative with the communication; pictures and showing by example.

Oh and did you wonder how I got to be so good at photos compared to the first blog things? These photos are definitely not mine, they were taken by Para :)  @parameetsworldinsta
